Hardwood

Hardwood is wood from those trees that have a more complex structure. They are usually broad-leaved and are mostly woods from deciduous trees such as oak, teak and cherry.

As their name suggests, the wood from these trees is generally harder than softwoods and can be easily characterized by the presence of pores and spiral bindings.

As Hardwood holds up well it is used for furniture construction and flooring where strength, splendour or stability matter.

ESD imports Hardwood from Myanmar (Gurjan), Malaysia (Balau / Keruing), Cameroon (Padouk, Beli, Belinga), Indonesia (Red Meranti, Marbau), America and Europe (White Oak, Red Oak, White Ash, Steam Beech, White Beech, Maple and Walnut).

Hardwood can be used for

  • Panelling of doors and frames
  • Door Frames
  • Window Frames
  • Hand rails
  • Skirting
  • General Mouldings
  • Furniture and Furniture Parts
  • Turning and handles
  • Wooden Cabinets
  • Sports Goods
  • Musical Instruments
  • Flooring, etc.

All this and more has further opened up avenues for ESD, to meet up the demand of persistently rise of hardwood. More and more people today have recognised the use of hardwood and are trusted by millions of residential and commercial space decorators.

Instead of trying to reproduce exactly what is seen, hardwood is used to make more arbitrary use of furniture and accessories to be displayed in a room to decorate your space in elegance. Needless to say, it will continue to be an infinite source of inspiration for people all over the world.
